The construction of the city dates back to 1 October 1937
when the Opera Nazionale Combattenti announced the competition for the urban plan.
The winning project bears the signature of the 2PSTs: Concezio Petrucci, Mario Tufaroli, Riccardo Silenzi and Emanuele Filiberto Paolini.
